Although the people at Amazon were very helpful in re-creating my lost order, this film is NOT "The Golden Calf". There are a couple different versions of this title, one being a religious tome, the one listed on Amazon with this title is an entirely different film altogether: A Russian melodrama of the early '30s period, altogether a droll, perilously dreadful film, produced and released in Russia with no English sub-titles. Even the VHS tape and package are in Cyrillic Russian, for sale/distribution in the West. As to the film itself, its 3-hour length is painfully awful to watch! I contacted Amazon to tell them of this error, and to delete/remove this one from their listings of Golden Calf, as it has nothing whatever to do with the film of that title. How it got there is a mystery. Unless you can read and understand the Russian language, and enjoy terrible films, pass on this one, again, it's NOT the film directed by Millard Webb, featuring Jack Mulhall, El Brendel, and Marjorie White, but something entirely unrelated!
