This is the only viewing guide on The Golden Girls, which of course puts it miles ahead of anything else--there is nothing else! The core of the book is good. Episode guides for each episode, and information on the air dates, guest stars, etc. The synopsis are, at times, too succinct, but it's an efficient book.

Now, this is where it gets bad: This is a published-on-demand book, and appears to have original been self-published. It's evident in that there are so many typos, inconsistencies in spelling, missing or incorrect punctuation, and layout inconsistencies that it's a very, very, VERY difficult book to sit down and read. Also, the section of the book that deals purely with the storyline inconsistences of the show is woefully lacking.

The book could benefit immensely from someone with a good editing pencil.

I was under the impression that the volume (an overview of the many seasons of The Golden Girls)would be lavishly illustrated and well-written. It was neither. I have purchased books like this for far less and the quality was so much better.It was a mistake that I will be careful to never make again. There are also grammatical errors and misspellings in the text. But I suppose that it's the only viewing guide on The Golden Girls available. But ultimate is pushing it.

Wow! I think this "book" was written by a high school drop out. I suppose it has all the basic facts about the show, but the writing is so bad it's distracting.

There have been many books written on various television shows throughout the years, most notably works on "Bewitched", "The Brady Bunch", and "The Twilight Zone". Here, finally, we have an informative book written on "The Golden Girls", the television show of the eighties and early nineties that viewers couldn't get enough of. The series was a top 10 hit during much of its original run on NBC, and the series would go on to enjoy immense success in syndication and cable airings, with the series' individual season box-sets becoming huge sellers.

The best part of "The Golden Girls: The Ultimate Viewing Guide" is the rundown of each individual episode, all 180 shows. Here, for the first time in print we get to see original air dates, names of guest-stars, and what the episodes were about. If you have the box-sets of "The Golden Girls" this book is a must-have: it's a nice companion piece where you'll watch the shows and refer to this bible every time to get all the neat tidbits of information.

Important to note too is the fact that "The Golden Girls-The Complete Series" DVD set will hit stores on November 9, 2010!!!

As I have all the DVD's of the Golden Girls, I can now look up snippets from the shows that further make this series even more meaningful.

the golden girls are for me symbolic for the 80's. this was for me the first time a stayed home for a televison serie. now with this book i know and enjoy more about the series on dvd. even now 20 years later there still the best. the lay-out of the book is good , nice glossy cover. everything you need to know is in the book . not one minute i regret this purchase of this book. i hope you will enjoy it much as i do.
