Comment: This book is in good or better condition. It has no tears to the pages and no pages will be missing from the book. The spine of the book is still in great condition and the front cover is generally unmarked. It has signs of previous use but overall is in really nice, tight condition. Parker's artistic details are marvelous. He shows the early drawings of Elsley, describes associations with other artists, and gives background information. As stated in the foreword, his book is not comprehensive. He left out works that he could not identify. Readers can be sure that his information is valid because of his association with Elsley's daughter. Many thanks to Parker for his work about an artist who has given many much visual pleasure.

This book was wonderful since the photographs and titles of the paintings helped me discover a painting that is now in the possession of Christies for auction in May, 2001. The painting was sitting in a dusty basement in South Dakota and since then has been loaded onto a refridgerated truck and deposited in New York.

I love the book with its whole emphasis on the Edwardian and Victorian paintings by Mr. Elsley. Why I didn't give it 5 stars was the limited amount of full color reproductions. These painting need to be shown in color. Black and white just doesn't do them justice!

I do not remember any other book giving me so much pleasure! A most appropiate title for dreamlike memories of a time gone by Elsley is not even in the web gallery of painters, yet he has capture happiness in oils. Maria A. Moraes Rego

This is a great book for anyone who is a fan of Arthur John Elsley's work. His paintings are just wonderful of little children and animals at the turn of the last century. This book is full of interesting info about him and how he came to paint many of his most beautiful paintings.

The book arrived quickly from UK to USA. It was used but truly looked new and unused. Only a tiny tear on the dusk jacket. Great price for an expensive book. I am delighted.
