i read this amazing history saga in less than a day. written by one of the greatest story tellers of our time, it was as easy to read as any novel. thoroughly researched, it relates the story of anthony and francis bacon, two brothers close to but never admitted to queen elizabeth 1st's circle. it relates the involvement of the two brothers with secret spys and earl essex, elizabeths last loved favorite who ended up on tower hill
