Birth and Root of Santana for fans of early Santana,

The CD features the birth and root of Carlos Santana. The live songs are mostly lengthy jam-style tunes with plenty of improvisation. The mood and sound of the CD is not very laud for a live version of his early work.
This is one of those compilations from not very well known labels that keep showing up. Most of these compilations, from secundary labels, feature the pre-release work (1968) of Santana uder many different art covers. I recommend "Live at the Fillmore 1968" or the "San Mateo Sessions" for his early work under well-know labels. |
