Golden Mountain Sauce is the secret ingredient that makes Thai dishes come alive. You may be able to find it in Asian food stores by the Thai fish sauce. You can also order it from one of the Asian gourmet or grocery vendors at Amazon.com. Look for "naturally fermented" on the label; otherwise you may be buying hydrolyzed soy protein (used in fake soy sauces) which is unhealthy and potentially toxic in high levels. Check with the vendor PRIOR to purchasing to ensure you are getting the "naturally fermented" product.

I almost always love Amazon's price but almost thirteen bucks a bottle....that's outrageous! I paid less than two bucks at local Asian stores in DC metro area. I use this sauce in stir fried vegetables with or without meat, fried rice or noodles and very good all in one sauce. I like Golden Mountain more than Meggie brand in both price and taste.

Similar to soy sauce but different...exciting. Great on Asian dishes but excellent all by itself on some hot rice. I can't eat normal soy sauce that way and really enjoy it like I do with Golden Mountain. Also very good as a marinade I use for my Thai chicken wings on the grill.

Excellent sauce. I buy it around from a chinese joint around the corner. 20 oz. bottle. He charges me $3-something. I give him $5. We're both happy.

Our local Asian foods market used to carry this, but no longer keeps it. This sauce adds excellent flavor to our Thai cooking, and is a good substitute for Fish sauce. We also use it instead of soy sauce in cooking. Great product.

Golden Mountain Sauce contains high levels of known carcinogens. It has been recently banned in Europe.

"Explaining the delay in publishing the findings, the FSA said it had to run a detailed analysis, contact importers and trace the history of consignments. The chemical 3-MCPD is considered so dangerous that the EU will not allow any more than the tiniest amount in food - just 0.02 mg per kg.

Yet one of the products, sold under the brand name Golden Mountain, contained close to 5,000 times that figure. Just two teaspoons would be equivalent to 20 times the acceptable daily intake recommended for a woman."
