Editorial Reviews

The Dangerous Summer is composed of AJ Perdomo (vocals, bass), Cody Payne (guitar), Matt Kennedy (guitar, keys), Ben Cato (drums). Golden Record is the third full length record that is about looking at where you ve been at how it impacted you and creating something that can last forever because of everything and despite everything. The Dangerous Summer pulled inspiration from the bands that shaped and amazed them as musicians and what transpired is a record that is sure to resonate with both long time fans and new adopters.

4.0 out of 5 stars Still doesn't "reach for the sun." August 22, 2013
By Phil
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
This album starts off very strong, but is pretty mediocre after the first 4 songs. The lead singer utilizes a rougher vocal style compared to the last couple albums. This works great at times, but I also wish he would utilize the smoother vocal style that was used in "reach for the sun." If you are a dangerous summer fan this is worth getting. The problem is if you are a huge fan of "reach for the sun," like I am, this album does not come close to that.

4.0 out of 5 stars Golden Record-- Pretty Good! November 2, 2013

Nice release- I would say nothing that would stand out in my mind right now for this group. Think a more commercially viable Brand New mixed with Waking Ashland

5.0 out of 5 stars This band never disappoints. September 13, 2013

Their best album so far. My favorite tracks are Sins, We Will Wait in the Fog, and Miles Apart. Be sure to check out the iTunes bonus tracks as well!

Okay so I'm not giving this a bad review because the record itself isn't good. All of The Dangerous Summer's albums are completely amazing. I love what they did with this record, and Ben Cato is an amazing drummer. I am rating it two stars to warn whoever may buy this or for all i know any vinyl off amazon THAT YOU SHOULDNT. When received it, the vinyl was so warped it isn't even funny. I am glad to have something to remember this band buy but it'd also be nice if it played. Not a single track on either side will play for 3 seconds without skipping. TERRIBLE SHIPPING DO NOT BUY VINYLS FROM AMAZON. Again, fantastic record and I will continue to play it on my phone forever, sadly never on the vinyl.
