Recorded in Byron Bay with friend and producer extraordinaire Nick Didia (Neil Young, Pearl Jam), Golden Rule is a departure from Powderfinger's signature sound - whilst still maintaining their knack for producing classic rock songs - unusual instrumentation, dramatic angular structures and dissonant strings nestle between harder riffs and experimental harmonies. Universal.

I have been a huge fan of Powderfinger for several years now, and this release is the best yet. Beginning to end, every song on Golden Rule rocks. Great melody and songwriting, and the vocals and instrumentation are absolutely outstanding. There is not another active band out there today producing guitar-driven rock and roll of this quality. I can't wait for them to tour the U.S. Powderfinger - please come to Cincinnati, Ohio!

This is a brilliant record to follow up 'Dream Days'. Powerful ballads and standard guitar-driven rock tunes. Can't ask for any more at this point in their career, how wonderful it is to have their catalogue of albums and now this new release!
