A warm, endearing, thoroughly enjoyable CD, Golden Slumbers is a collection of songs fathers sing for their children, it's a celebration of all fatherhood.

Eleven highly lauded artists contributed to this album, including Dave Matthews, Phil Collins, Michael McDonald, Smokey Robinson, Jon Secada, Carlos Ponce, Richard Marx, Buddy Jewell, Will Downing, Solomon Burke, Loudon Wainwright III and Kirk Whalum. Plus the incomparable James Earl Jones reads "Children," a touching poem by Kahlil Gibran.

Of his song, Phil Collins said, "As we musicians get older and have children, our priorities change. I had no reservations about sharing the love I have for all my children with others on this CD. I wrote You touch My Heart in a couple of hours one morning while I was walking the dog and pushing my then 6 month-old son in his pushcart...."

I have purchased the original Golden Slumbers CD for myself and 2 other friends who have new babies. We all love it. The music is great and you can listen to it over and over and not get tired of it. My son is 8 months old and he listens to it every night since he was born to get him ready for bed. I have placed an order for Father's Love and I know I will enjoy it just from listening to it online. I would highly recommend both cds to anyone. You will enjoy them!

Absolutely beautiful songs and incredible singers. Worth every penny I spent on it, as my son, husband and I all love to listen to it as we fall asleep at night. Be aware, however, that two songs talk about the death of a father, which some kids might find traumatic to listen to at night.

This is one of the few albums I have ever purchased where I liked EVERY SINGLE track right away. I bought the album because I am a big Michael McDonald fan, but hearing all of the different musicians sing about their experiences as fathers blew me away. This CD has something for everyone. I immediately bought another copy and sent it to my dad. The fact that it was also benefiting the National Fatherhood Initiative made the purchase a no-brainer... HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended.

I was given this cd when my son was born. I was told it would help relax him and enable him to sleep better. I swear it did! But, I still listen to this Cd myself 4 years later. I find it so realaxing. I have given many a copy as gifts.....

We absolutely love this cd! It is great to play in my daughter's nursery. I purchased the two cd's for my husband for Father's Day last year. He loves them as well!

If you are having a girl, get this cd for the song "Daughter". It stuck in my husband's head and he sang it to her over and over the day she was born.

This album is very seductive and sweet at the same time. Fathers with incredible voices singing beautiful songs to their children--what could be more wonderful? Some of the songs bring tears to the adults listeners. Children love them too.

This is an interesting collection that reminded me of the records we used to play that had many good songs rather than just one or two good cuts. My neighbors with an infant daughter love the album and have recommended it to their friends. I don't know of any similar collections, so I can't really compare it to other records, only that it has become a favorite at our house.

The thing that I loved most about the first Golden Slumbers CD was that it was something that both my husband and I could enjoy as well! A parent can hear a lullabye record only so many times before they start going a little nutty. Yet, we never tired of A Father's Lullaby! The songs were familiar but soothing. Even after our little ones have outgrown the need for lullabies, we still put it on when we are looking to find a quiet space in our home. A Father's Love is as wonderful as the first. The addition of vocalists, who put words to the emotions of parenting, make it even more special! I love the heartfelt messages and love that are evident in each song! Although I bought it today and had hoped to save it as a Father's Day gift, I could not wait to share it with my husband because it is so absolutely lovely and heartwarming. What a wonderful expression of love!

Even better than we expected... our son and daughter-in-law are expecting their first child, and they both appreciated the father-child theme. All 'round very nice.
