Editorial Reviews

Caustic s hearing-damaged, electronic punk distortion is slightly tamer on the
dance-floor friendly Golden Vagina of Fame and Profit, but doesn t sacrifice any of
the attitude or humor of previous releases. From the propulsive opening mission
statement of 666 on the Crucifix and the industrial reggaeton of Chum the Waters
(with Stromkern s Ned Kirby on vocals) to the Thrill Kill Kult/Underworld-inspired
Floor Whore Disko, Caustic s Matt Fanale pens a warped, Hinckley-esque love letter
to the club music he loves for his Metropolis debut. Mixed by Tom Shear (Assemblage
23), Faderhead, and Dan Clark (The Dark Clan), and featuring guest appearances by
Unwoman, Bitch Brigade, and Faderhead, Golden Vagina pulls no punches.

Biography

Few artists in modern industrial have enjoyed maniacally giving the finger to the genre and all of its outdated, bullshit clichs as much as Caustic's Matt Fanale. Like an OCD kid on a four-pack of Red Bull, Caustic bulldozes relentlessly through the genre (and zillion self-servingly named subgenres) with music, rants, and more general stupid live than most people can handle, making him a ... So you've danced to unicorns and kittens, you've boozed it up and rioted, you joined the Corps and followed the trail of vomit...now you can bask in the rewards of fame and profit! Matt Fanale is the only artist who is able to tap into Wisconsin's disestablishmentarianism-meets-dairy-production zeitgeist in a way that zeroes in on the heartbeat of the heartland, while offending the refined and cultured sensibilities of highbrow clubgoers who only acknowledge music made by German vampires, Scandinavian ghouls, or silly French Canadians. Speaking of French Canadians, I was a little confused by the description not mentioning the poutine content of this record, since I am assuming it is a nonzero value and we don't want anyone with poutine allergies to consume it by accident! Regardless, whether or not you buy into Fanale's radical leftist agenda and/or possess a working sense of irony (whether it is your regular run-of-the-mill irony or the double-strength hipster-infused "irony") you'll be sure to scratch your head and dance like some nightmarish, punch-drunk asylum-escapee version of the Six Flags guy, without the exorbitant dry-cleaning costs or court-mandated letters of apology that would be sure to follow! In all, you'll be pleasantly surprised that Rascal Flatts incorporated these elements into their newest side project under the helm of this jolly soul; I daresay that this remains Rascal Flatts most inspired side project, and without a doubt this brings country music to a whole new level.

Caustic's most fascinating book yet! Far better than similarly themed tomes like Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Grisham's latest, The Lawyerer.

The power of this music truly captivates my mind and stimulates feelings deep within my bowels. The lush inserts of very high quality and probably expensive synthesizers, simply dominate the sound spectrum and give birth to a feeling of rejuvenation to one that has given up on music. If Frédéric Chopin were alive, he'd marvel in the wizardry of the bassline programming for only a genius could truly compete with the note placement here. The cover...oh my the cover. It takes residence in my washroom and provides a whole different kind of pleasure at random intervals at the day. I have made a photo copy of it for in between office meetings.

This is my new favorite book EVER. It was totaly a cross between Little Women, War and Peace, and Penthouse Fourms. Evey word leaps off the page and into your retnas and you can never unread it. It is like someone took a moonbeam and crushed it into little specks of magic. Buy this now, not one, not two but at least 15 copies. Just remember that this is the greateast gift to humanity since the invention of unicorn blankets. Your bookshelf needs to have this on it right next to your incense burner and fake plant. For this young author only the sky is the limit. I cant wait until his next awsome book.
