Anna Mae Bullock was born in Tennessee, but moved to St. Louis as a teenager. There she met rock and roll performer Ike Turner and persuaded him to let her join his backing vocalists. Eventually Anna impressed Ike so much that he gave her equal-billing, and the new name "Tina". They became the Ike and Tina Turner Revue, and married in 1962. He really worked his magic on this song. It made it big in clubs back in 1995 and it made me more interested in Tina's career now that I knew that she sometimes got remixed by the big names in the buisness. The original of this song is following the obligatory James Bond-recipe with mystical strings and trumpets and everything else we recognize from all the other James Bond themes released over the years. Tina was a perfect choice for a James Bond theme and she can really be proud of this song, which is one of her biggest hits ever. The video is awesome too!
