I write about puppies because I love dogs. Dogs are always happy to see you, and always excited about what's going to happen next whether it's a ride in the car, a game, or just cuddling up on the couch. Dogs are also great for telling secrets to, and for comforting you when you're sad.
I live in Vermont, an incredibly beautiful state, and I spend time outdoors every day: I love to swim in clear, cold ponds, bike on shady back roads, hike tall mountains - and ski down them!

I think this book is just delightful. For any family who has a dog, wants a dog, loves dogs or even just likes them, this is a wonderful book to read aloud. Goldie is the first in a series of six books called the Puppy Place. We now have 5 of the books! First, our daughter thought Goldie was the best (and the fluffiest), then she liked Snowball, then Shadow--you get the idea. What we like about the books is that they are not too grown up, but do contain some "real world" concepts, very appropriately presented. For example, the youngest child in the family, Adam (but his nickname is The Bean), is adopted. The author mentions this matter of factly and moves on. By the way, The Bean is so sweet. He likes to pretend he is puppy and eat from a bowl on the floor! These sweet books also have an element of suspense: where will the foster puppy go when it is time? Highly recommended!

Lizzie and Charles and their parents (the Peterson family) foster puppies. They also have a little brother named Adam (they always call him The Bean).

One day Lizzie and Charles's dad came home with a tiny, cute Golden Retriever puppy.

Find out the rest in, where else? Goldie!

Goldie is one of my favorite Puppy Place books.

I love the cover picture too.

Just a reminder, but there are no pictures.

A book for doggie lovers, havers, and wanters!!!

Goldie was a great book. I loved it and it was what I expected from a book:

1It was very detailed.

2Yes,it had some sad parts here and there but it had a perfect ending.

3Finaly as I read the book I could picture it happening in my head.
