The European grounded Schuko plug to US adapter is useful for my laptop power supply - when traveling in Germany, I can't use the common Euro adapters since those don't provide the ground connector. This adapter is a reasonably priced solution to this problem. I was ready to order a grounded Schuko computer power supply cable for over $20 to build my own Schuko/US adapter cable, but luckily I found this adapter before taking that expensive step. It works, yet the mechanical finish leaves a bit desired - this could be more sturdy. Schuko outlets tend to be a fairly tight fit, i.e. you have to apply some force to plug in a Schuko plug. Same for disconnecting the plug - you have to put some force into pulling the plug out. Make sure to insert and extract this adapter very straight. Any tilt seems to make it drastically harder to work this adapter.

Nevertheless, this is a great deal. After a more in-depth search I noticed that other outfits charge four to ten times more for this very piece. Online order was easy, I received it on time (which was great to accommodate my trip to Germany) and it was well packaged. One note: even though this adapter connects US appliances to the German outlets, please be aware that the US grid uses 120V and Germany has a 220V grid. Make sure that your appliance can handle a 220V input, or else it will go up in smoke. Most computer power supplies automatically adjust to input voltages ranging from 100V to 240V and are safe to use with this adapter.

Worked well in France. The *grounded* plug adapters are difficult to find in Europe, so US travellers are advised to buy them in the US.
Note that this is a plug adapter and not a power adapter. This is intended to use with devices that accept 230V voltage.

These are the perfect AC plug adapters. They fit securely and safely into German Outlets. These adapters accept both polarized and 3 lug grounded US plugs.
