Upon moving to India I carried this to be used with my NTSC Samsung 40" LCD TV and other small electronics - Wii, Blu Ray Disc Player. Has worked well for the last 1 month.

The price was good, and it's been on (almost) 24/7 for about 4 months with no problems.

Also, it comes with an adapter that allows you to plug it into European (2 pronged) outlets. I didn't know this at the time I made this purchase and wasted money buying an adaptor for this purpose.

I am European(from Belgium) but i bought my xbox 360 while I was in Wisconsin so i needed something to be able to play it in europe without blowing it ----> mission accomplished, it is heavy and could resist shocks. It works well and doesn't heat up too much(it does get warm tho but nothing out of the ordinary).
When I came back to Wisconsin I used it to connect my Wii gaming system from Belgium and again mission accomplished.
I strongly recommend you to get it if you would have the same use i had with it, it works great!

Just moved to the USA from UK. i couldnt run many of my UK electronic goods in the USA as i need a 240v supply rather than the standard USA 110v.

found the transformer and it works a treat. Using mainly for my UK PS3, i have a first generation console so it only runs on 240v. I've had the transformer on daily and the longest run its had is about 12 hours and no problems noticed.

the Humming noise is very low and you can barely hear it. The unit does warm up after prolonged use, but thats completley normal for a product like this.

I've only had for a few weeks, and no problems to report so far. would give 5 stars but need to see the lifespan of product.

if you need to run UK electorincs in USA, this is worth the money.

Bought this a couple of months ago to power my Hughes & Kettner amp I purchased in Germany. This unit has adequate power to handle it with no noise and no heat. Very durable construction.

Bought it to use in the United States with my cooking appliances and HiFi devices bought in France.
Easy to set up.
It worked perfectly (Produit à recommander).

I used this voltage converter in India (220V), UK (240V) and it stepped down to the voltage to 110V and kept all my devices (laptop, phone, shaver, wifes hair straightner) all charged multiple times. There is an audible hum when charging, best to leave it in another room in the house if you have the option. It also has surge protection which came in handy when elecricity goes out and then comes back. Very sturdy, you can buy a power strip if you wish to charge more than one device, just ensure the power output does not exceed 500W of devices you are connecting (for those I listed above, it does not).

I gave it 4 stars vs. 5 just for the sheer heft and weight of the device. If you have the luggage space then no issue.
Just wish it could have been lighter but then it would not have 500W!

Highly recommend this voltage converter for travelling to other countries with different voltage setting.

Just remember to buy a travel plug for the country you are visiting.

No rocket science her but it is good when a device does what it is supposed to do. I installed it in 30 seconds and never had to deal with it again.

When I arrived in China, the fuses kept on burning out when I tried to use the converter. I got an electrician at the hotel to help me out and he said that the problem wasn't the fuses, rather the product was poorly made and didn't work properly. He was shocked that a brand new product from the US would not work until he realized that the product was made in China. The electrician then added that the products for converters coming out of China are terrible. He recommended me to purchase converters from the US as they have better quality products. I guess I will know the next time around!

Luckily for me, the hotel had a converter for me to use. Since I live in the US, there was no way that I knew of to test the converter until I got to a foreign country. If I had to do it all over again, I would spend a little bit more money and make sure to purchase a converter manufactured in the US. These things are heavy and a pain to drag around so if you're staying at a hotel that has a lot of American tourists, they may have one already.

I purchased this transformer to power up a European appliance. The item was packaged fairly good, BUT the fuse case was broken. II had to take the unit apart (fairly easy to do) and superglue the plastic piece back together. An hour later I put all back together and powered the unit up, measured the voltage at 220V on the European plug and 110V on the US plug, which concluded my test. The unit came with a single page leaflet in English, a few extra fuses, and a 110 to 220 plug adapter. It is rather heavy, and it does make a humming noise. I have not stress-tested the unit yet.
