Beginning golfers, buy this book! (No, I'm not related to the author or publisher.) This is almost the perfect elementary golf guide. Each topic is brief and to the point, the color photos are clear and sharp, and I can't imagine any essential element of the game that isn't covered. My only gripe is that I was surprised at the small format (neglected to check the dimensions of the book under Amazon's description) -- it's about the size of a small paperback novel. I guess they expect you to carry it to the driving range in your back pocket. A larger format would have helped. Aside from that, this book is a keeper.

When I decided to try and take up golf I found this book on the Internet and took a chance and purchased it. I was very pleased. This really is a nice book. Every page is illustrated in full color and is printed on 279 mm paper. It's a quality publication. It covers every aspect of the game from equipment to instructions and pointers on driving and putting. It is a very informative book even if you decide never to play the game.

Small Book Packed with Useful Information!!,

This review is from: 101 Essential Tips: Golf (Paperback)
101 Essential Tips Golf by Peter Ballingball is a great little snapshot of tips to get the novice started. The information and illustrations make the book super easy to understand and follow. It's not going to teach someone to play golf, but it will help the reader understand what he/she is learning and why movements work. The book includes a chart to help the beginning golfer decide which club is best for which situation. It also provides descriptions of the myriad equipment involved in the game. Exercises to aid a beginning golfer in strengthening and stretching the muscles golfer's most use are illustrated and described. 101 Essential Tips Golf is a nice little book that will fit in one's golf bag or would be easy to take a long when shopping for equipment. It's a quick read for an afternoon when a golf game gets rained out!

This book was suggested to me by a colleague as I was starting to play golf. I found it to easy to read, follow and understand. This is a delightful little book that contains a wealth of useful and helpful information and golfing ideas for the novice with an interest in learning some basics about the beautiful game of golf. The book is packed with ideas that succinctly explains and describes the crucial golf tips that a novice golfer would be interested in knowing. As a novice golfer, I learnt how to avoid bad habits from the start. The numerous and excellent photographs and proven advice helped me to ensure that I make those hours on the driving range and putting green time well spent. It is straight and to the point with no unnecessary fluff and sets a good foundation for the beginner. The book is an excellent companion for the beginner that is well worth having.

Small, But Useful,
By
This review is from: 101 Essential Tips: Golf (Paperback)
The small format makes this seem like a gift book for the golfer in your life. Although the list of clothing needed is rather simple (for a beginner), the book moves on to some nitty-gritty details that experienced golfers will appreciate. It tells how to know if a club has the correct lie to fit you and how to determine the sweet spot on a putter you are thinking of buying.
The book moves on to grip and swing explanations. The illustrations are marvelous, very colorful and easy-to-follow. It includes a few exercises to improve your swing and gives a few tips on golf ettiquette (holding the flag, replacing divots). Most golfers end up with a shelf or several shelves of books on the complex game of golf. This is a good one to start your collection.

This bood is very short yet packed with essential golf tips for beginners. There are photos almost every single page so it's like watching a video tape. It takes less than 30 minutes to read the whole book, but I learned a lot. With price so low, you can't go wrong.
