Book Description

April 24, 2002 Golf can't be this simple
Golf Can't be this Simple - The Swing is a golf swing instruction book. It describes Concept Golf's five swing principles that make good golf shots possible for all golfers.

Concept Golf is a way of teaching golfers how to swing and how to play the game that makes golf fun. The ideas are simple, golfers improve quickly, and their improvement is permanent. Countless golfers have proved that these ideas work. For most golfers the game is frustrating and sometimes embarrassing. Concept Golf teaches golfers with a few simple ideas; to be exact, there are 5 principles or fundamentals that create a good golf swing. The focus is on the shot results and not the swing mechanics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Golf is this Simple, March 9, 2006

This review is from: Golf Can't be this Simple: The Swing (Hardcover)
John Toepel shares 5 concepts that absolutely will make your golf easier. I am a professional golf instructor and without a doubt this is the most concise and effective swing instruction book I have ever read. The swings of every great ballstriker display the concepts presented. Only by completly relaxing the upper body can one hit the ball both powerfuly and straight. The backswing cannot be artificially "slowed down" to fit some measurement without sacrificing a players natural tempo. The feet and legs are the power source for all swings. Regretably the average golfer will play his whole life thinking the swing is some mystery that takes years of practice and luck at birth to play well. This is not the case. I greatly improved my ballstriking and teaching skill after reading this book just once and so will you. Keep reading and practicing and refer to the concepts and you will play the best golf of your life. Negative reviews listed below have missed the point of this remarkable book. Don't be fooled, there are no preposterous ideas here; just rock solid concepts to unlock the player you should be.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Golf Instructional Book Ever!, October 24, 2002
This review is from: Golf Can't be this Simple: The Swing (Hardcover)
This book significantly reduced my handicap and it made sense. He uses my swing and not some ideal swing. I have Natural Golf Vidios and books and this is the only book that does not try to make a robot out of the average golfer. I look forward to his follow-on books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Read This First and You Won't Need to Read Another Golf Book, October 4, 2005

This review is from: Golf Can't be this Simple: The Swing (Hardcover)
I read this book in about 3 hours. It's very easy to understand because there's really not that much about the golf swing to understand. That's why this book is so great. He demystifies the entire swing and gets you focused on the most important part of golf- playing the game!

I have played golf since I was 6 years old. Now I'm 29 and have wondered over the years why I've pretty much stayed the same or worsened since I was a kid. This book reminds us to play like a kid again, have the swing that comes natural (with the 5 principles in mind) and just get the ball into the hole in as few strokes as possible.

I would definitely recommend this great book to anyone, as well as his second book, "Golf Can't Be This Simple: Playing the Game."
