Gr 5-7-Each of these titles includes black-and-white photographs and reproductions of individuals famous in the sport. Both books discuss the history and pioneers of the game and modern stars. Golf includes Tiger Woods and his reord-breaking win in the 1997 Masters Tournament while Tennis concludes with a few paragraphs dedicated to Martina Hingis and Pete Sampras, the winners at Wimbledon in 1997. Curiously, the chronology appended to that title ends in 1978. Although the writing is somewhat dry, these series entries may appeal to sports-minded youngsters.-Rachel Fox, Port Washington Public Library, NY
