Editorial Reviews

Review

"Golf lessons can become life lessons. I realized from my father, and I hope I am teaching my children the same, that golf can demonstrate to a young boy or girl the positive values they should want to incorporate in their daily lives." -- Jack Nicklaus II, Pro-Golfer and Golf Course Designer

"I am delighted that Jacqui and Johnny have written a golf book guiding the parent and junior player and its impact on them. Because through golf, I learned at an early age the discipline that this game requires, the sportsmanship expected of players, and the manner in which you should conduct yourself on and off the golf course. Golf is a game that has at its foundation fundamentally positive values - we keep our own score, we call our own fouls - and these are values we can take into the rest of our lives. Golf is also a game for a lifetime. Whether you are 10 or 66, you can enjoy the game. It's a rare sport that allows you to play the same game with your spouse, your parent, your child, or as in my case these days, your grandchildren. And I think that's pretty special." -- Jack Nicklaus, Golf Legend and Winner of the Most Golf Majors in History

"Invaluable head start for any parent or coach guiding the development of a young golfer." -- Andrea Gaston, Women's Head Golf Coach, University of Southern California

"The gift of golf is a gift for a life time." -- Dale Walker, Director of Golf, San Diego State University

"This book will get young players off to a great start. There is something for everyone including instructors, parents and players." -- Renee M. Baumgartner, Ph.D, Former collegiate golfer and coach, Senior Associate Athletic Director-University of Oregon

5.0 out of 5 stars Junior golf book, August 21, 2007
This review is from: Golf Guide For Parents And Players: Secrets Of Success For Junior And College Golf, The Pro Tour And Beyond (Paperback)
I am a PGA member. I can not recommend this book highly enough for parents and juniors. It is extremely well written and has very valuable information for juniors at all stages of the game. I particularly like how the authors used real life examples to make their points clearer. It is the only book written of its kind. I feel that this book will help juniors make better choices for themselves. It will also help them enjoy and appreciate the game of golf for their lifetime.
