enticing enough to make me want to play golf,
This review is from: Golf: Links in Time [VHS] (VHS Tape)
After viewing " Golf Links in Time",a history of the game of golf, I can understand the fascination with playing the game. It's not only a personal challenge to do your best, but a visual sensation playing on the beautiful courses in many parts of the world. The simple explanations of "bogeys", "birdies" etc., dispell some of the difficulties one may think are associated with the game of golf. I can hardly wait to experience the fun of playing.

History Channel report on this rising sport. Excellent documentary showing old photos and video from its beginnings in Scotland to Tiger Woods. Ken Venturi adds nice touch with the commentary. Highlights changes in equipment, courses and popularity. Links past with present in excellent manner. From Tom Morris to Harry Vardon to Walter Hagan to Bobby Jones to Nelson and Hogan and Snead to Palmer and Nicklaus and modern day players. This is a qreat addition to the golf enthusiast to have in collection and take out often and watch again this fascinating, well-done quick "fly over" of the course of this game over last some 200 years. |
