Book Description

May 29, 2001 Ragged Mountain Press Woman's Guides
Interest in golf in the U.S. is at an all-time high, and the largest single group describing themselves as aspiring golfers are women. This latest addition to the acclaimed Womans Guide series addresses the unique concerns of those estimated 24 million women who either have already been bitten by the golf bug or who will soon try their hands at golf for the first time.. . Avid golfer and writer Susan Comolli Davis covers the game from the inside out, from its allure as both a business and recreational pastime to the nuts-and-bolts of choosing the best instructional method, buying equipment, learning your way around a golf course, developing a repertoire of strokes, basic fitness, and advanced techniques. And, as with all the books in the Womans Guides series, the text is enlivened throughout by the voices of women of all ages and walks of life, who share their insights and experiences on the course, including Hall of Fame Golfers Nancy Lopez and Kathy Whitworth.

5.0 out of 5 stars GOLF: A WOMAN'S GUIDE SCORES A HOLE IN ONE, July 12, 2001
This review is from: Golf: A Woman's Guide (Paperback)
I recently purchased Golf: A Woman's Guide for my girlfriend, and could not be more pleased!! It has proven invaluable!! Mrs. Comolli Davis provides a complete guide for women golfers whether they are picking up a club for the first time, or are preparing for their next LPGA event. On a personal note, the chapters that my girlfriend and I enjoyed the most were "Your First Time" and later "Swing Time." The Resources section is very helpful.

Any woman who is considering taklng up the game would benefit from referring to this "guide"--because that is exactly what it does-guides you through all the confusing and commonly misunderstood aspects of the game. There's also plenty of info that even an accomplished player would find interesting and helpful.
