About the Author

Jim Healey began publishing golf books in 1989. A former teacher, Jim was a three-time All-American Basketball player and was selected to the 1968 NAIA Olympic Trial Team. Drafted by the Devner Rockets in the ABA and the New York Knicks, only a knee injury prevented him from fulfilling that dream. He began taking golf seriously in the early 1980's and began researching golf history in eatly 1992. A member of the Golf Writers Association of America, he continues to write for regional golf publications on significant historical issues.
