5.0 out of 5 stars Let the Turkish touch entrance you!! Excellent buy!!, August 12, 2000

Mustafa Sandal is probably the most well-known singing sensation in Turkey, alongside Tarkan. Sandal's music is basically Arabesque with a light touch of western/pop beats. Most- in fact, just about all - of the songs on this album are very acoustic and light-hearted, and make for easy listening. The lead song "Araba" (meaning "car" in turkish) was a megahit in Turkey, staying on top of the local charts for almost three months, and bagging the Song of the Year award. The song struck such a popular chord that Sandal came back with a remix video of the song last winter. Other feature songs among others on the album include "Bir Anda" (In a moment)- my favorite song because of its mysterious and adventuruous tune which almost makes you feel like you're lost in the music- entranced, and "Jest Oldu", a very sweet yet light love song. What makes his music so appealing is that you don't need to understand Turkish to love his catchy tunes. When I first came to Turkey in '97, I knew no Turkish at all, yet, "Goldgede Ayni" was one of the first albums that I added to my collection. Another standout characteristic about Mustafa Sandal is his music videos, which range from plain vanilla to high-tech spy videos. However, the best part about this album (and Sandal) is that the songs are not targetted for a particular age-group and definitely not alarming for parents, unlike Tarkan's songs. While Sandal may be unheard of outside Turkey, this album definitely deserves appreciation. This is one CD you could play over and over again without getting bored.
