About the Author

Manny Luftglass has written five other books in his Gone Fishin' series. He writes the "Freshwater Fishing Report" every week for the NJ/Delaware Bay edition of the Fisherman Magazine and also contributes stories. Manny is popular on the lecture circuit in three states and specializes in teaching his double-anchor style of fishing.

Joe Perrone is a professional fly fishing guide/instructor for the Catskill Mountains, was a professional sportswriter for the Passaic-Clifton Herald Times, and manages the fishing department of a sporting goods store in New Jersey.

More About the Author

Joe Perrone Jr. worked as a sportswriter for the Passaic-Clifton, NJ, Herald News, as well as a freelance advertising copywriter. He is perhaps best known for his Matt Davis Mystery Series, which includes: "As the Twig is Bent," "Opening Day," and "Twice Bitten." Joe's first novel, "Escaping Innocence (A Story of Awakening)," is an evocative coming-of-age novel set in the turbulent '60s. In addition, Joe's second non-fiction work, "A 'Real' Man's Guide to Divorce (First, you bend over and...)" was published in 2009. In 1997, he co-authored (with Manny Luftglass) his first none-fiction book, "Gone Fishin' with Kids (How to Take Your Kid Fishing and Still be Friends)."

Joe was a professional fly-fishing guide for ten years in the Catskill Mountains of New York, and has had several fly-fishing short stories published in the Mid Atlantic Fly Fishing Guide. Both "Opening Day" and "As the Twig is Bent" are actually set in Roscoe, NY, the small Upstate New York fishing village where Joe was a guide. Recently, "As The Twig Is Bent" was translated into Portuguese by Rafa Lombardino of Word Awareness, Inc. of Santee, CA. Plans are underway to translate "Opening Day" and "Twice Bitten" at a later date. At present, Mr. Perrone is at work on a literary novel, entitled "Changes," which examines the life of a man who is struck by lightning and the resulting conflicts he must resolve with his circle of family and friends. A release date for "Changes," will be announced late in 2012. All of Joe's books are available in paperback or in Kindle editions on Amazon.com.

Mr. Perrone recently signed a three-year contract with Interpill Media of Hamburg, Germany, a literary agency that plans to represent his books to German language publishers throughout Germany.

This is a wonderful book for parents, grandparents, or anyone who wants to bond with their offspring. It takes the mystery out of fishing with a child. Not for kids, ideal for adults!! Should be required reading for parenting in general.
