After two klunkers, I needed a good audiobook to restore my faith in modern American publishing. Thank goodness for Gone For Good! I knew from the first few paragraphs that this well-written story would hold my attention, and it did, with just enough suspense, doubts, and twists. I remember thinking the last chapter would be a simple "They all lived happily ever after" conclusion; I didn't know there were still several twists in store for me. If I have any complaints, it would be that although I liked the Squares character, he was just a little too convenient and omnipotent in his ability to rescue Will again and again.

The narrator did a great job, especially giving the secondary characters like Squares and the Ghost their own recognizable identities. I recommend this audiobook to anyone, but especially anyone who needs their faith restored that there still are good stories, good writers, and good books getting published!

This was first read by H. Coben for me. Once I became accustomed to the reader's delivery I totally enjoyed the experience of listening. There were many twists and turns in the story..well thought out and most unexpected. I was somewhat let down with the uncharacteristic behavior of one of the characters toward the end but would totally recommend this book!

This book got me into Harlan Coben and I think it was his best work. It was so good that I have passed this cd off to anyone that I know who hasnt heard of Coben or wonders why I like audio books so much.
