From AudioFile
Josie Wales, once a farmer and now an outlaw wanted by federal troops, heads to Texas, where he encounters dangers from Comanches and bounty hunters. Ed Sala's calm, steady voice provides a natural, smooth narration for the strong story. He readily catches the essence of the harsh outlaw, as well as the loneliness and tenderness deep within the man. Easily slipping into the dialect and slang of Josie's speech, Sala's voice just as smoothly becomes the gruff voice of a vaquero or the snippy voice of an older woman. Sala's talented narration provides this Texas Western with an outstanding reading. P.A.J. An AUDIOFILE Earphones Award Winner. (c) AudioFile, Portland, Maine
