View Park Series,
By Linda Y "always reading" (Columbus, OH) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Gone Too Far (Paperback)
I must say that I was very pleased with the culmination of the View Park Series. This was such a troubled family with so many hidden secrets that blew up in their faces and money couldn't fix. The heads of the family, Steven and Janet had to learn to love but let go and allow their children to lead their own lives and fix their own mistakes. My favs, Michael & Kimberly learned to let bitternes go and rely on each other while dealing with their sick child. Carter & Avery had to learn to rely on themselves before they would know if they were better together or apart. Leigh found her voice and a possible love and Haley, may decide to grow up and be responsible for her own actions. This was a great book series that I would love to see turned into a t.v. series. I really enjoyed.

Tidy Ending,

While I'm not certain, I get the sense that this might have been the ending of the View Park series. Many of the loose ends were tied, and in a very satisfying manner. I read all of the View Park series books and waited with anticipation for each new one. This one did not disapppoint. What I like most about the characters is that they exhibit a wide range of emotions and varying levels of maturity. Therefore they are believable. Without spoiling the result for anyone, I will just say that in my view, things end as they should. The only nagging questions I have are about Haley (where does she end up) and the Jackson family. Will Taylor or Sean's lives ever have a resolution in the story? In any event, job well done and whether or not it is in the View Park series or something else, I will definitely look forward to reading anything else that Ms. Winters writes.

I really enjoyed all the books in this series. I hate to think this is the last one. I real enjoyed Avery and Carter story, also Kimberly and Michael. I do hope the author will come out with more books in series as this group.

although i am sad to see this series end (at least it's written that way, but who knows...), this was the perfect culmination to the chase saga. bravo ms. winters. here's hoping your next series is as captivating and engaging as this one has been!

A Family Dynasty,

This review is from: Gone Too Far (Paperback)
The Chases are known as a powerful and elite family in the black community of View Park. They appear to have everything in order, but when family betrayals and secrets become intense, they're faced with the fact they may have gone too far.
Carter Chase has lived by his standards most of his life and usually gets what he wants. What he wants is to make Avery pay for hurting him. He is successful in hurting her, but he may have done more damage than he meant. He has to decide whether to continue to make Avery suffer or let her go. Michael Chase has spent most of his adult life trying to please his father and it cost him dearly. He's now faced with trying to get his life and priorities in order. Things are getting better for him, when one of his twin sons suffers a fatal illness. He becomes determined more than ever to get back what he lost. Leigh Chase tries to avoid drama at all cost. After her relationship with a high profile movie star ends in disaster, she takes a break from the dating scene. When her path crosses with the Republican's party new golden child, she has to decide if she will listen to her mind or heart. GONE TOO FAR by Angela Winters is the fifth installment of the View Park series. While each book in the series can stand alone, I'm glad I read the previous books to get an understanding of what was happening and recommend readers do the same. Ms. Winters delivered a drama with a soap opera feel from beginning to end. She portrayed each character's stories vividly and fervently, making me feel as if I were a part of the story. I kept reading with anticipation to see if my predictions were correct or not and was surprised with the outcome. I was delighted about the ending; however, I was a bit saddened this may be the end of the series. Reviewed by Jaime L. Lincoln of The RAWSISTAZ(tm) Reviewers

So Unreal,

Purchased all the books in this series at one time, what a big big mistake. So much of what happened this series was too unbelievable. I have read my share of fiction novel, but this take the cake. Each time I finished one of the books in the series, I had read books from other authors bring myself back to the reality of a fiction novel. I only continued read this series because I purchased the books all at the same time, again big big mistake. The characters in the series really got on my nerves. If there is another books in this series please bring down the mighty Chases in the first chapter. Then I might consider purchasing the book.

I know I am late reading this series but I just had to add my two cents....Just wanted to say that I areally enjoyed getting to know the Chase family...this was a really GOOD ending to the series......but I would LOVE to read a little more about Haley, Taylor and Sean will they find what they are looking for in life...maybe find some HAPPINESS together for Haley and Sean....I think they would make a GREAT couple once Haley grows up...Sean might be the only man that can handle her or maybe it will be the current man in her life...but anyways hoping to find out if there will be more.....Again a well done ending....

This was an excellent conclusion to the Chase family drama! Everything was wrapped up in a neat bow, but after all the drama in the previous books, I needed it to be. I love Carter and Avery. Halley makes me angry because she is so spoiled. You just know that she will never stay out of trouble. The View Park Novels remind me of a black version of the ABC drama "Dirty, Sexy, Money." I would watch this family if it ever became a television show.

I never get enough of the Chase family. Hopefully, this is not the end of the series. If it's not the end of the series perhaps the author can expand more on Haley, her husband, her troubled life, etc. A bit more on Leigh and perhaps her senator husband, etc. There is more to be said in the Chase family. Let's not end it, yet Angela, but if you continue the series, please do not make us wait too long.
