A gentle story of friendship and magic,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Gone With The Wand (Hardcover)
Margie Palatini's GONE WITH THE WAND receives fun drawings by Brian Ajhar and tells of a fairy godmother put out of business by her success. It's up to Edith the tooth fairy to help Bernice find new magical powers and new meaning in life in this gentle story of friendship and magic.

Good book, but not what I expected.,

This review is from: Gone With The Wand (Hardcover)
I love Margie Palatini books, and I use them a lot for oral language presentations. I purchased this book for that purpose and was disappointed. It didn't have the same humor and imagery that her other books have presented. The story itself is perfect for a picture book, but not for an oral presentation.

Poor, Poor Fairy Godmother!,

This review is from: Gone With The Wand (Hardcover)
This fairy godmother, Bernice, has lost her touch! These illustrations are great, which is consistent with this author's writing. Bernice's friend, Edith, helps her find a new job. A great opportunity for kids to brainstorm ideas about this book and answer comprehension questions.
