Richard Allen,If this is the Only Cd with his name on it,has left an Amazing Legacy for Jazz fans. I have this album on right now,playing in my Computer.I bought this as part of a 100 cd lot on Ebay,so I didnt really know what I was getting. This album has a true Classic feel and I love it.Would say if you get the chance to listen to it,and Own it-do so.You wont regret it.

Although Richard Allen passed away three years ago, his music is still with us, thanks to the efforts of his friends, Nick and Sophia Peron, of JazZInn Productions. "Gone With the Wind" offers a fine sampling of Richard's book, from which he drew the finest assortment of songs I have heard performed by any living artist. For years, he held forth at the Taos Inn, where one night I remember a visitor from New York City, who told me she had been going to hear Bobby Short perform almost weekly for two decades, but she had never heard a voice, or a style with a lyric, to rival Richard Allen's! The CD features the playing of several of New Mexico's finest jazz musicians, including some of those who performed regularly with Richard during his many years of performing in Taos. This is a rare opportunity to experience a "new" artist with an old aesthetic, performing at the peak of his form. As a jazz programmer on KUNM-FM in Albuquerque, New Mexico, I regularly receive requests for Richard's music. It is always a pleasure to respond!
