...yet again...another album I came across completely by accident...I was looking back through the genre of Melodeath and the name Neptune popped up...I listened to some samples...this is not melodeath...but it is certainly nothing to let go of...

...this is another band that attempts to revolve around turning noise into music...alot of bands do this from the danceable obscurity of bands like Animal Collective and Battles to the flat out constant white noise of Merzbow and Wolf eyes...this band however makes an attempt at dark atmospheres by minimalist sounds that gradually build up with a somewhat punk like edge (note the use of power chords) from the generator hum and evil guitars combined with the speakings of a man gone mad of "Black Tide" to the industrial screeches combined with gradual build up of tribal drums with "Copper Green" this band manage to explore many different sounds with plenty of dark landscapes that will keep you craving for more...

...the picture that is really put in your head can be best described as the album cover as what looks like a dried up lake in the middle of a simple working class town...we are brought through the troubles of these people's minds...how their lives have become nothing more than trying to gain power of what they have and trying to break-even for survival...the album empathises with all the feelings of pain you have and turns them into felonies...you shouldn't feel this way as it is wrong to give up...

...this album should satisfy most people's hungers for something new...watch out for this band...I expect good things from them...

there's no other band out there quite like this one. if you like angular punk with a side of experimentation check this out. many would like to know that much of their instrumentation is homemade. good to see JP kicking out some quality music.
