Elephant Man's "Good 2 Go" album is a great album. His unique style of reggae and hip-hop brings the whole dance floor together.
"Pon de River Pon de Bank," the only pure dance hall track to crack the charts since the genre got more reckless and hyper post-Shabba. It's a fantastic single and "Good 2 Go" surrounds it in standard dance hall album style: some killer, some filler, and at least one truly misguided moment. Elephant Man singing to the tune of Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger" on "Fan Dem Off" supplies the misguided moment, but there are 19 other tracks to choose from with the filler being better than usual and the killer being just what kicking stereos crave. I honestly love reggae. From the late Bob Marley to the hip Sean Paul, I have been listening to this beautiful type of music nearly all my life Besides the pumping and contagious "River," there's the deep and ominous chant of "Jamaica" and a perfectly executed team-up with Killah Priest on the hypnotic and smoke-filled "Who We Are." Joel Chin (a member of the family that started the VP label/dynasty) contributes production that is both quirky and breezy on "Cock Up Your Bumper," with the usually brash Elephant Man prattling on about "yellow underwear" like a tripped-out Harry Belafonte. `Good 2 Go' is obviously is a good listen, but at times can be overstuffed like "Signal de Plane." `Good 2 Go' is a great dance hall album that focuses on the energetic artist in his prime with little refinement. This one is great to have.

Elephant Man is there!,

Good to Go is an absolutely brilliant album. At first listen it'll probably hit you like a whirlwind! there's so much creativity crammed in those 70 minutes.Musically it takes you to all 4 corners of the dancehall scene...there's hip-hop,roots,reggae,bashment all mixed together and decorated with a POP sensibility.Musically it accomodates all the best 2003/4 dancehall rhythms and never lets up.Lyrically 'Ele' is in a league of his own and the speed and versatility of his delivery is astounding! sometimes you'll have 2 or 3 vocal snathes hitting you at the same time,1 in 1 speaker and 1 in the other or all on top of each other.Youy'll never get bored and this album will keep you coming back for another listen again and again.KILLER!

why one of my co-workers didn't like this cd. She gave me her burnt copy and I absolutely loved it. It took all of my self control not to get up and dance on the "El" because every beat was tight! When I got in my car, it was over with! I head-danced all the way home. I love "F**k you Sign" and the song about Jamaica where somebody is rapping at the beginning (I think it's #11). Now that I've heard it, I'll go out and buy the real thing.

What Bashment party would be complete without Elephant man and "Signal the plane" or "Pon the river pon di bank"??Elephant Man is the new Lord of the Dancehall!!! and this album proves it, if you are afraid of Nasty Lyrics or just can't understand Patois, don't buy it, but if you are into raw entertainment Elephant man's lyrics may be nasty but they are clever and hilarious! His ingenuity and originality onl;y proves that they were written and performed by a true master of his art. you cannot go wrong picking this one up!!!!

Ele has once again proved why in Jamaica he is and has been regarded as one of the driving forces behind Dancehall music. With this release on VIP, Ele will skyrocket to the Top of everyones list of Dancehall greats. Not comercial greats ie...Shaggy, Sean Paul and the likes but bonafide Dancehall Kings like Beenie, Bounty, Capelton (more roots now) and Shabba. Big respect to Ele and the whole Scare Dem Crew. Dancehall is safe in the hands of the now ruling King
