4.0 out of 5 stars Proof "Firehouse" Has Talent
I became a 'Firehouse' fan after purchasing their first album from the bargin bin in 1992. They had definite talent, but they came onto the scene a bit too late to gain a huge following with the "Heavy Metal" crowd. 3.0 out of 5 stars Acoustic Greatest Hits anyone?
I will say this right now......I never bought this CD. I have heard it, though. "You Are My Religion", "Love Don't Care", & "In Your Perfect World" are decent, at best. I was not impressed by them at all. The third one was the only one I would even listen to again. The rest of the songs are basically just different, acoustic versions...

4.0 out of 5 stars Proof "Firehouse" Has Talent, January 30, 2008
This review is from: Good Acoustics (Audio CD)
I became a 'Firehouse' fan after purchasing their first album from the bargin bin in 1992. They had definite talent, but they came onto the scene a bit too late to gain a huge following with the "Heavy Metal" crowd. While the younger people started to embrace the grunge scene, and the older crowd listened to their staple music in a rotation, it was difficult for the traditional hair-bands to break into the scene if they weren't already known.

In my opinion, this album showed the older crowd that the music Firehouse wrote had heart and soul, not just electric guitars and drums. "Love of a Lifetime" was done in a fashion that was a cross between "country" and "easy listening" and is a perfect piece to be played at weddings!

If you're unfamiliar with their music, this is a great introduction to the band. If you are familiar with their music, it's great to hear them do their songs as acoustic representations. Either way, it is very easy to appreciate this album... pick it up and give it a spin.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Introduction For Any Music Fans, January 28, 2001
This review is from: Good Acoustics (Audio CD)
This is their acoustic version of their best collection. Even though you do not like hard rock/metal and so, you will definitely love this.

You Are My Religion is my #1 favorite among three newer tracks. Love Of A Lifetime and When I Look Into Your Eyes, their biggest hits so far sound a bit country-like but they are cool tracks even with different arrangement. Here For You is the most perfectly suited for this compilation better than 3 version. And Eagles classic Seven Bridges Road is a surprise.

Good acoustic are not only for rock fans but for any music lovers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Firehouse talent...acousticly!, September 8, 2006
This review is from: Good Acoustics (Audio CD)
One of my favorite cd's!!! Talent certainly comes out when they can cover an old southern rock hit like 'seven bridges road' and do it so smoothly! The acoustic guitars rock with rhythm and funk. I never knew firehouse to be this talented! It sure shines out in this acoustic compilation of their most remembered hits! Being partial to modern country rock and southern rock...I can't help but be doubly pleased with hearing a steel guitar added to my all time fav. by this band, "love of a lifetime". This is a must have for any firehouse fan!

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific, December 3, 2005
This review is from: Good Acoustics (Audio CD)
See, we all know Firehouse is known for their powerful ballads. These acoustic songs are terrific. Perfection. You can sing these around a campfire, haha. These are very powerful songs indeed. Just because they're hair metal, doesn't mean they can't make great acoustic songs. Poison on the other hand had a little problem. "Here For You" is a great song. I am here for you, always here for you, when you need a sholder to cry on, blah blah. Yes, I don't remember the words, I'm not a words type of guy. "You Are My Religion" can make you feel that really weird feeling when you like someone.

Bottom line here, is that these songs will just blow your mind, because of the perfection and just this band in general. Alrighty my fellow citizens of the USA and the world, peace.

5.0 out of 5 stars Expect the Best, April 17, 2004

This is a greatly underated album. It is one of my favorite albums by them thus far. The first three songs are so catchy and well written that I wish they would do another acoustic album with more original material. The older songs that they re-did with the acoustics are also very well done. Pick it up!

4.0 out of 5 stars well worth the listen, October 18, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Good Acoustics (Audio CD)
an ear-pleasing album, with the former hair-band's hits toned down a bit and heavily remixed. Perhaps a bit over-laden with ballads, but, darn it, it's just great-sounding. One of my guilty pleasures
