Best album if you like folk/experimental,
This review is from: Good Arrows (Audio CD)
I've had this album for over a year and still can't get enough of the best originality from a band that can prove that the music industry is not just a bunch of Britney Spears drones. You will receive a wall of sound that makes you feel you are listening to music for the first time in your life. I highly recommend this album if you like anything acoustic and everything experimental with music, (which should be the most important with music anyway!). Do buy this album. You will not be disappointed.

Tunng is a band of six from London who create full, layered, atmospheric, and quirky music. Sometimes they remind me of the Super Furry Animals with lots of harmonizing, layered vocals, and electronics.
Bullets (4) is my favorite track from this album, it's very atmospheric and attention grabbing. Soup (5) is also an excellent track which is mostly instrumental that goes crazy after they yell "SOUP!" and then there's lots of xylophone and guitar. Take (1) has some clapping and kind of reminds of me the Rosebuds. There are reverbed vocals, some recorded voices, and some electronics in Bricks (2). The more folky sounding tracks are Hands (3), Spoons (6), King (7), and String (10). Arms (8) has an interesting drum beat.

What a wonderful surprise,

I purchased this album on a blind recommendation, having never heard or seen the band. My first listen didn't yield an enthusiastic response, and I tossed the CD aside as just "another indie band".
However, having now matured a year, I can listen to this album again more critically and find fragments of sounds mind blowing, and all woven together to form a cohesive, touching album. If you are interested in modern folk rock, this album will sooth the itch in the back of your mind and answer the question, "What if they did things just slightly to the right?"
