Biography

The Bouncing Souls have never been in the New Yorker. The NJ band that has been kicking their singular brand of angular punk-anthems for upwards of 15 years now, are not necessarily what you would classify as critical darlings, but they have something more tangible. The boys have an arsenal of songs that no one in the North East corridor can deny, tracks like Sing Along Forever, Kate Is Great, or… Read more in Amazon's Bouncing Souls Store

Editorial Reviews

"This debut album is where it all started and is one of the most sought after Bouncing Souls releases. Appeare as headliners on Warped Punk-o-rama Deconstruction and Sno-Jam Tours as well as their own." --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

4.0 out of 5 stars I remember when I first heard this, September 15, 2000

Once I entered high school I quickly made friends with the local punks, I was finally meeting similar people who shared the same convictions as I did. Bouncing Souls had just released this and the 'Souls came up often in conversation. They played NYC often and at least 10 of my new upper classmen friends would be talking about going to the show all week, and come Monday they would go on and on about how much fun they had watching the 'Souls and dancing the night away. This album has almost every element to earn it a special place in my heart, along with my friends, we both grew and dealt with issues, often slapping this album on while taking long drives. The 'Souls music is laced with energy, joy, confusion, and melody. The lyrics are almost always a step above their peers, and I always found myself relating to them. The majority of their releases never leave my stereo, and though they have been lacking on their newest effort, Hopeless Romantic their previous albums always bring me happiness. I like your mom! oh, and they don't play "Old School" (one of their best songs) live, I've seen 'em enough, no matter how loud I scream they don't play it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everyone needs this CD, October 16, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Good Bad & The Argyle (Audio CD)
The Bouncing Souls are a great punk band with a unique sound compared to other punk bands. They've got great lyrics which makes their songs great. It's such an awesome CD it will make you want their other two just so you have more of the Bouncing Souls to listen to. You cannot listen to this CD too much, because you won't get sick of it. My favorite songs are Joe Lies (When he Cries) and Neurotic.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Bouncing Souls are one of the best punk bands right now!, June 13, 1998

This review is from: Good Bad & The Argyle (Audio CD)
With all the boring, dime a dozen punk bands out there right now, the Bouncing Souls are an amazing breath of fresh air! This album is so great! Full of energy, catchy punk rock anthems, and references from 80's movies. The funny yet disturbing ended of my favorite track (Neurotic) has become a staple in mine and my friends answering machines. You'll see what i mean if you go buy this must have for any punk rock fan!
