5.0 out of 5 stars The Good, the Bad and the Beautiful Rocks!
About a year ago, I was handed a single of "Satellites" at a Kill Hannah show I was instantly in love. I have been following Cherry Monroe ever since then. There new album The Good, the Bad and the Beautiful is all I had hoped for. It's refreshing. It has a new sound to it. It's amazing. They boys are gorgeous. What more could you want? My favorite song is "At the Stars"...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best, but clearly not the worst
I got into Cherry Monroe about a year ago, after I met them at a show. I bought their cd, and I admit it's quite the guilty pleasure. This album feels like a "special edition" of their first one, containing all the songs plus a few new ones, and it is also re-mixed. The songs are catchy, and the guitar lines are quite hooky. But in reality the true magic of the band...

This album feels like a "special edition" of their first one, containing all the songs plus a few new ones, and it is also re-mixed. The songs are catchy, and the guitar lines are quite hooky. But in reality the true magic of the band lies in their live show. The cd has nothing on the live show which feels a lot heavier, and it's where the guitarists truly shine. I'd recomend purchasing the cd to support the band, but buy it from them at their merch table, and while you're at it buy a shirt from them too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cherry Monroe rocks!, September 15, 2005

Having seen these guys live a couple times, I can say that the record is truly fantastic and really captures the essence of the band. There's an emotional attachment to the lyrics that really shines through on the songs. Go check them out live, too - you will not be disappointed!!

Catchy rock, heartfelt lyrics - what else can you ask for in a good rock band?

A highlight of the record, for me, is 'Bandages' ... an all-too-familiar lyrical refrain of the heartache of loving someone that only hurts you in return.

5.0 out of 5 stars ONE WORD SUMMARY "AWESOME!!", September 15, 2005
This review is from: The Good, The Bad & The Beautiful (Audio CD)
I love the new CD, even though some of the songs are the same. I still love the CD. We got it for $15 and got to see them perform. Which was pretty awesome too. Cherry Monroe, is the best of the best. They are slowly coming out of the woods. I just hope that after all this they don't forget the fans that put them where they are at right now.

5.0 out of 5 stars weeeeeee!, July 24, 2006

yes...that was random....
anyway. I really love this band. I LOVE down, painkillers and, if you go(which they have a public service announcement with) Jason(drums) and Ryan(guitar) are so nice. they've invited me to sit with them backstage at shows and it rocks! they always treat me like a friend instead of a fan. if you get a chance to see them live...go! they have to put on the best concert ever. I mean I am all about Frickin' A but I would have to say these guys do put on the best show I have ever seen, some of these songs lose something on CD. They are soooo much better live.

3.0 out of 5 stars Glam Rock, Hair Metal, Pop Punk.... Emo ruins everything it touches!, September 23, 2005
This review is from: The Good, The Bad & The Beautiful (Audio CD)
SR-71 has been completely ignored with their latest album along with Lit, Sugar Cult and along comes yet another high quality band that plays good solid modern rock tunes. The opening track is a total smoker. "Bandages" is the type of song that makes you want to listen to the rest of the album. Once track 3 passes by though so does the powerful rockers. The band does have a small emo feel to them at points which is their downfall. Emo stinks and will continue to stink until its finished its run. Cherry Monroe has the opertunity to become as good a band as the ones I mentioned previously but they need more fist pumping rockers and less mid-tempo sludge. Mining the territory of "Down" a little more would be nice. This song is a good modern rock song. As I listen to the album it progresses into the same rock universe as Our Lady Peace or Live to a smaller degree. Again this isn't a bad record but it's not as good as it promises on track 1 & 3. So I can't say I recommend this album to anyone who isn't a fan of the emo inspired modern rock of 2005.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sooooo good. You don't even know., September 23, 2005
This review is from: The Good, The Bad & The Beautiful (Audio CD)
if you've already gotten their first album, and saw that the songs were mostly the same and didn't get this one, you're and idiot. not only are there 2 brand new awesome songs, but the old ones are even better. they've totally been souped up and they'll blow you away. for those of you who don't have this yet, what are you waiting for? go get this cd. i garentee that you wont be able to take it out of your walkmen.
