Constant Bedside Companion,
By Keath DeLancey (Los Angeles, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Good-Bye My Friend: Pet Cemeteries, Memorials, and Other Ways to Remember (Hardcover)
I've had the book for one week, and it's been my constant bedside companion. Michele Lance-Altomare's photographs are so beautiful that I hope I don't stain them with tears. But for every tear, there is a smile. This book honors the spirit of every animal who has ever lived ... and died. "Good-Bye My Friend" contains thoughts and recollections from pet owners, veterinarians, pet cemetary operators, and Lance-Altomare herself. This book will rip out your heart then set it free upon the rainbow bridge, that it may once again be reunited with the dearly departed.p.s. ~ not only are the text and photos masterful, but the entire "design" of the book evokes awe. The resource section at the end is a must for any animal lover.

Wow!,
By Jim Brown (NYC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Good-Bye My Friend: Pet Cemeteries, Memorials, and Other Ways to Remember (Hardcover)
This book is awesome. The pictures are absolutely fantastic. Each page seems to evoke another memory of all the wonderful animal companions I've had. From Hansel to Wally, all my departed pets, dogs, cats, and even the alligator, come back to visit through this book. The experience is quite bittersweet, as there is nothing quite like loosing a pet, that loss of unconditional love. I not only recommend this book, but I also recommend meeting the author at any booksigning you can make. She was worth the 100 miles I drove to see her!Thank you, Michelle.

This review is from: Good-Bye My Friend: Pet Cemeteries, Memorials, and Other Ways to Remember (Hardcover)
This books not only celebrates the beauty found in pet cemetaries, but the beauty found in the human/animal bond. Michele illustrates through her magnificent photos how deep and eternal the love can be for the animals in people's lives. The stories told are endearing, encouraging the reader to reflect on his own fond memories of the pets in his life. "Goodbye, My Friend" is a gracious tip-of-the-hat to pets and petowners everywhere!
