This is a well-referenced book that will serve as a good source for others doing similar research. I like the unique perspective on these icons of the faith. The danger of neglecting family is just as real today for all who seek to be used by God in this present age. Even though this is a somewhat scholarly book, it still reads quickly. She does a nice job of summarizing in the final chapter. I'm buying several copies to give out to friends in the ministry for Christmas. Hopefully it will spare them of future family problems by reminding them of their highest calling as a husband and father.

This is a must read for every Christian husband. Too many of us have bad viewpoints of our family life vs church life. Doreen Moore does an great job telling about these three men and their truely important impact.

Rarely will I tag a book with "must-read," but this is a MUST READ.

Author, scholar, mom, and wife Doreen Moore has done an incredible job portraying the most important part of any man's Christian life, his marriage and his ministry. But she did so while comparing not just the marriage and ministry, but also the lives of three of history's most visible Christian preachers: George Whitefield, Jonathon Edwards, and John Wesley.

This book will be one that will gradually catch on and talked about for years and years.

We love this book so far.. have not completed it but will soon! It is a must read though.. very eye opening to marriage and soo insightful.
