Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare have played hits, produced them and regularly reinvented reggae. Now we're talking about 30 years, and they're still doing it. Their hands forged much of the last three decades' in the musical history of Jamaica and Worldwide music (genre).

Sly and Robbie have played on more records than anyone else, that's close to a million by now - 20 tunes a day for 25 years, and you get nearly 200,000 tracks, multiplied by remixes, dubs, versions and all those one-rhythm albums...that music fans is saying something...awesome.

Every artist on these tracks celebrates the old and the new in music, and the ability to enjoy them in unexpected new ways...they are masters and adventurers, present here a living endorsement for the interconnectedness and eternal inspiration of music...SLY and ROBBIE we can't wait for the next decade's.

"River Niger" I believe found originally on the Dunbar solo "Sly-Go-Ville", has to be one of the top Reggae (and include related genres SKA) instrumentals available no make that, one of the most memorable sojourns in music you will ever hear, so dynamic, transcending beyond music. I have sought to find out, is this from an older movie sound track originally? Despite the Taxi drivers being well known as supporting musicians; this track certainly stands on its own as being among their own creations.

I've listened to the Uhuru dub music of Sly and Robbie, very good, but in the finality, the Skatalites "Guns of Navaronne" is the only thing as memorable.

If you don't know Sly & Robby, you are missing out on one of the strongest underlying forces of Reggae; these guys helped everyone, are still on the forefront.

Not only for their advanced recording techniques, guitar, percussion, what great artists.

Great cd, some of the songs I didn't know they had played on. Should have included some of their work with Peter Tosh though.
