It seems like a well made cast iron, but..there is black specks flaking of the surface of it now and we've only had it a month. The black specks are all through our food, especially stuff like eggs or rice because it really picks it up. Is this safe? What is it? I have all cast iron pans, all different brands, shapes, sizes and I've never seen anything flake off before. I'm worried that its not usable anymore even though we have not noticed any obvious reactions to eating the black specks. I hope its not a 'non-stick' coating or something, that is the reason I only use cast iron, to avoid issues like this.
