5.0 out of 5 stars Let Us Sing!, July 20, 2008
This review is from: Good Day (Album Version) (MP3 Download)
Tally Hall is a strange breed of group, in that they have all the qualities of an indie band, yet they are signed to a major label. And boy do they sound like an indie group. Take this song for example, it makes 3 major shifts in tuneage, 2 out 3 of them being tributes to a time in music gone by. Whether that is intentional or not, you be the judge. But the chorus sounds like a Sonny and Cher tune from the 70's, and the bridge sounds like Freddie Mercury in one of his severely overrated epics.

So what do you describe this song as? A song about nothing that repeats the barbershop quartet vocal of "Let Us Sing!" And sing we do. Because it all ends up extremely likable and catchy. It's innocent, fun and very happy. What they're happy about, I'm not sure, but I'm digging it.

So pick up Tally Hall and enjoy their "Good Day." It'll bring you a smile to your face while confusing you with their smiles, white shirt and ties all the same. Don't pick this up if you're into depressing hip-hop tracks and things where you get what you expected. This song couldn't be more wrong for you.
