I was completely distracted from what I was doing last night when this talented musical artist began her network television debut performance on Leno. At the conclusion of her performance, I immediately referenced the Tonight Show site for more information, then went on to listen to song samples on the web.
The first track, Dream, was the song performed live, and it was simply beautiful. Despite nervousness, she controlled her vocals well across a wide range. Her voice carries a lightness or great strength as necessary, and the arrangements are very pleasing. If you enjoy artists like Sarah McLachlan, Dido, Anna Nalick, and Beth Orton, you will likely appreciate Ms. Ahn. For a first album, this one is quite well done. I will certainly be recommending this artist, and look forward to her future endeavors!

I popped in the CD and listened to the first track, "Dream".
I know it's hard to believe but the stress I was going through that day somehow evaporated as Ms. Ahn's combination of a golden voice, precise guitar playing, and wondrous knack for the harmonica reverberated from my living room.

The heat of Southern California became bearable.
As the second track "Wallflower" was nearing its end, where Priscilla's voice shines and resonates in perfection, my mother steps in the living room and asks,

"Who's that?"

"Priscilla Ahn".

For the first time in quite a long time, my mother was interested in 21st century music.
She sat down and began comparing Priscilla's blooming voice to the legendary Astrud Gilberto, one of Brazil's finest Bossa Nova artists.

Ms. Ahn possesses a classic, jazzy tone which sounds a lot like "great American music". Try her CD, and you tell me. There is simply no comparison to the gigantic empires of Leona Lewis, Kelly Clarkson, or Carrie Underwood. Priscilla Ahn is on a league of her own.

May I reveal one more thing?
Her songwriting ability is phenomenal. Every song is a true story. I can't pinpoint which song stands out the most because all are so deeply intimate yet they possess an enchanting quality that makes us breathe easier, smile a lot more, and feel very good about ourselves.

She is simply an amazing find. Pure talent that is classic. Her voice is enchanting and her music should be shared with the world. Get this CD. Dream is such a wonderful song and it absolutely touches your heart. I was so captivated by her voice the first time I heard it, that I just had to find out who she was asap. This is music that will not let you down. It is mellow, sweet, and beautiful. Support an artist that actually deserves to have a record and check her out.

I discovered Priscilla Ahn on a free ITunes card at Starbucks. After I listened to the song "Dream", I knew I had to have the album.

Priscilla's voice is beautiful, and her songs are a mix of folksy, upbeat, and thoughtful. I'm very pleased with this album. Most songs have simple guitar backing, and the guitar is played well and the audio quality is excellent. Her voice stands on its own, blending her own harmonies played as loops over the primary vocals. There are no bad tracks on the album, although the following are my favorites:

Dream - the first single. Her voice hits beautiful highs, as she longs for the future and her dreams. The song is surreal and relaxing, conveying the concern and joy for the future. This song really showcases her voice, with a chorus of tones in the middle of the song.

I Don't Think So - A great beat, a great beginning. Here Priscilla has some very interesting intonations that display a range of styles in her voice. The guitar has a hint of country twang which is a nice variety if you eclectic in your musical tastes.

Leave the Light On - This song has a country folk style with a catchy tune which is very enjoyable. There are great harmonies voiced in the background.

Red Cape - This track is a departure, with a mostly vocal start and only a hint of instruments. Priscilla's voice is interesting in its range in this song, with beautiful pitch changes mid-word, and great backing harmonies, also by Priscilla. As usual, a great beat and catchy tune cap the song off.

One other note. I've seen reviews that say her album is too juvenile, too corny. Well as is often the case, the professional reviewers find fault with things many of us don't care about. I say buy the album! [...]

I'm always cautious about buying CD's because I've wasted a lot of money buying one based on a single track that I heard and loved, but was bitterly disappointed in the rest of the CD. Not so with Priscilla Ahn. When I stumbled upon "Lullaby" on the internet one day, I just loved it and began to look for other songs by her that were on the internet. I loved each and every one and have been waiting with bated breath for her CD to be released.

Now that I have her CD, there is not one song that I dislike. They're all songs that make the drive go by faster, the cleaning easier, and the enjoyment of listening more pleasurable.

Her voice is smoky, soft, and easy to listen to. I haven't cringed once by an off-key note. Oh, and wonders of wonders, my mother also liked her music ... this doesn't happen very often that my mother and I agree on music!!!

This is definitely one CD I would recommend you buy!

Ahn is like Nora Jones sans the jazz. Her voice is melodic, soothing, infectious. Great listen after a stressful day or to keep you calm during rush hour traffic!

I first heard Priscilla when she opened for another folk rock singer ..I said to my friend that I couldn't remember the last time an opening act blew me away ..!!! I rushed out and bought the CD. Her voice has an extraordinary quality that draws you in from the start. It is powerful ..sweet and angelic .. like a folk singer ..but it can also soar ..and rock ..! She's a gifted musician and talented songwriter .. she will lift your spirits. My only criticism goes to Blue Note records for not having the balls to let her put the boob song on the CD. Blue note ..you're yellow. I don't fault Priscilla for this so I give her the 5 stars she deserves. I love this CD.

I've always enjoyed listening to minimalist singer/songwriters such as vintage Neil Young and Joni Mitchell. I was doing precisely that one day mourning the fact performances like that don't exist anymore. Then by mistake I clicked on Priscilla Ahn. For people open to it this album is a wonderful emotional journey. Priscilla shines. To me the less production manipulation the more she shines. The closer to just Priscilla and a guitar the better. Producers take note. I bought a cd and sent it to a family member. She loves it and can't stop listening to it. The spirit of her music is that infectious. If she were to come out with a compilation of live performances I'd buy it too in a second. What some people call naivete I call emotional honesty. Priscilla puts it all out there and if you're up for the ride what a ride it is. Buy this cd for yourself and your friends so there'll be more. As to Priscilla, shine on you crazy diamond.

Awesome talent. Her voice is captivating. So young and with so much potential. I can hardly wait for her sophmore effort. I am sure her themes and depth will continue to mature. How does a 24 year old come to write "Dreams"? Such wisdom. Maybe a little overproduced on this one. The Youtube videos are stripped down and more revealing to me.

I first heard Priscilla Ahn's 'Dream' on an episode of Grey's Anatomy, and immediately went about Googling for more info about the artiste and song. I picked up her album after reading all these fantastic reviews and watching a couple of clips on YouTube, and I have to say that I am not at all disappointed by the quality of music on her album. It's not by any means perfect, but it is nonetheless a very good album. Perfect for chilling to at the end of a long day with a drink in hand. I'm more of a melody person than a lyrics person, and the melodies are amazing. Lyrics-wise, I'm no expert, but if so many people think they're good, then it must be true ;-)

Get it if you haven't! The best [...] bucks you will spend in a long while :)
