You've seen them in restaurants and theaters--those tubes full of lights proprietors use to mark stair edges and other potential hazards that might be fallen down or tripped over in dim light. That's not to say that Good Earth Lighting's rope lighting products can only be used in public venues--you could use them as funky accent lighting in a living room, party lighting, or to outline a path in your backyard.

The key to using these lights to full effect is mounting them securely, and everything you need in order to do this is included in the hardware kit, which contains mounting clips, cable ties, and screws. The lights themselves are extremely long-lasting--they're rated at 35,000 hours, and the heavy-duty PVC rope is an unobtrusive 3/8-inch in diameter. For longer runs, you can easily connect one set to another (up to 330 feet maximum).

The G9512CLR-I is 12 feet long, and operates at 120 volts. If you need different lengths, see the 6-, 24-, and 48-foot models (#G9506CLR-I, #G9524CLR-I, #G9548CLR-I). Note that these lights will heat up when in use--they should not be left on unattended. UL listed.--Josh Dettweiler

I bought these to create some interesting lighting effects in my home office and bedroom. I found them easy to install using the provided clips. (I used my own screws as those provided are extremely cheap and don't seat properly on any drill bit--they appear somewhere near a Phillips 1 point, but don't seat correctly and are virtually unusable). All of my lights worked just fine right out of the box.

Installations tips:

1) Get yourself some quality size #10 .5 inch screws from your hardware store.

2) Plug in the light before installing it. It will heat the plastic and make it much more flexible and easy to work with as you go along.

3) You can also use cable ties to mount the lights if you get the clear plastic variety. These work as good or better than the clips for some applications.

These are very inexpensive rope lights and look great. Reading reviews it seems their quality may be hit-or-miss, but if you get a good set they're a really good value.

I use it as an under kitchen cabinet light. It is bright and my wife loves it. I tried many other products, they are either not bright enough or don't cover enough space. Finally, this is it. On top of that, it is not expensive compare with other products.

We ordered this rope light for our RV because it was just 12'long. Most others were much longer and we wanted just enough to run the length of our outdoor mat. It is perfect. It gives just enough light in the evenings so we can see but not so much as to offend our neighbors. It suits our purpose perfectly. This seller offers excellent prices and fast shipping. Highly recommended.
