I bought these to create some interesting lighting effects in my home office and bedroom. I found them easy to install using the provided clips. (I used my own screws as those provided are extremely cheap and don't seat properly on any drill bit--they appear somewhere near a Phillips 1 point, but don't seat correctly and are virtually unusable). All of my lights worked just fine right out of the box.

Installations tips:

1) Get yourself some quality size #10 .5 inch screws from your hardware store.

2) Plug in the light before installing it. It will heat the plastic and make it much more flexible and easy to work with as you go along.

3) You can also use cable ties to mount the lights if you get the clear plastic variety. These work as good or better than the clips for some applications.

These are very inexpensive rope lights and look great. Reading reviews it seems their quality may be hit-or-miss, but if you get a good set they're a really good value.

I use it as an under kitchen cabinet light. It is bright and my wife loves it. I tried many other products, they are either not bright enough or don't cover enough space. Finally, this is it. On top of that, it is not expensive compare with other products.

We ordered this rope light for our RV because it was just 12'long. Most others were much longer and we wanted just enough to run the length of our outdoor mat. It is perfect. It gives just enough light in the evenings so we can see but not so much as to offend our neighbors. It suits our purpose perfectly. This seller offers excellent prices and fast shipping. Highly recommended.

I use it as backlighting for my desk when I'm writing code at night (eases eye strain). It works, but the plastic is very stiff and difficult to hang properly if you aren't going to secure it with something permanent (read: brackets and/or staples/nails). I will buy it again for my other desk.

I saw an article about using this for under counter supplemental lighting. Well the photos must have been long exposures because these are truly not adequate for lighting a work area.

They are wonderful for subtle light in a room though.

Part of this intermittently fails to stay lit unless I jiggle the thing around, so there is some type of loose connection inside it.

Over all nice product. Can't blame the product for my unreasonable expectations.

I've seen these lights on gazebos and pergolas in magazines. I wanted the same lighting effect on my new pergola and I couldn't be more pleased. They provide a pleasing glow in the pergola.

The lights are well designed. You can add one string after another, I used three (3) 12' strings to go around the perimeter of the new 8 X 10 pergola. Each string comes with a heavy duty plug, but of course I only used one of the plugs. The strings are 12' exactly, no overage or shortage to worry about. They designed it so the connections between two strings is practically invisible.

My only complaint is with the mounting clips they provide. The clips are a little brittle and the teeny mounting mounting screw I found difficult to install. I ended up buying some heavier clips. But I still would highly recommend these lights, they're very nice.

These were everything I would hoped they would be. Easy to use and connect, easy mount, good lights.

Within 24 hours of plugging these lights in the center section all blew out. They weren't even plugged in the entire time. Will never buy these again. Not worth returning as I'd lose more money than it's worth.

This is the second set we purchased....the first set wore out after years and years and years of daily use. We put these on our deck and they look so pretty and shed just the right amount of light too. We would definitely recommend this product to others.

I followed one reviewers suggestion and turned the lights on for some time before installing them. It definitely helped. The plastic casing was much easier to work with once it was slightly heated.

I used these in my Son's room. I purchased 2 sets. One was installed inside the closet for lighting which worked out wonderfully and the other was installed on the bottom of his bunk bed for lighting the bottom bunk. It worked out great and he loves them!
