Great Recipes for Two,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Good Food: 101 Meals For Two (Good Food 101) (Kindle Edition)
Finally, a great set of recipes - from appetizers to main meals to desserts - you don't have to adjust for two people! The book opens with a nice introduction from Angela Nilsen, BBC Good Food Magazine. Then the Conversion Table, which is a tremendous help. But the best, of course are the recipes.
The book contains a plethora of recipes including sections "Simple Suppers on the Run", "Special Occasion Meals" and "Low-fat and Healthy" - a definite need after my indulgences during the holidays. The first section is "Starters, Salads and Snacks" - which I immediately marked Chicory and Pear Salad - doesn't that sound healthy and delicious? Although, the "Something Sweet" section is enticing me to try "Warm Peaches with Basil and Honey" - it's low-fat, so...no guilt. Each recipe includes the time frame to prepare and how many it serves, which is commonly 2. It also includes the a breakdown of calories, protein, fat, etc per serving. CONS: (and not really a deterrent from the purchase) The photos, in black and white, are still appealing, though would be better in color, of course. It would also be helpful if the Table of Contents was first, or at least located right after the Introduction. However, you can easily get to it by clicking the Kindle "MENU", then "GO TO..." and selecting "Table of Contents". I bookmarked this page (MENU > Add a Bookmark) |
