Full of homey and quick recipes. This book was published in 1976. Perhaps one of the first of it's kind. The author realized most celiacs did not only have cookbooks, but also did not have most of the information they needed about their condition. Her husband was a celiac and she had researched it extensively. It not only has several recipes, but is also loaded with the authors research on celiacs. Much of this research seems to have gotten lost by the medical community. Imagine my surprise to find the author had noted other conditions that a gluten free diet seemed to help...and autism was included. Apparently there was research published in 1971 showing a connection with autism, considered a rare disorder at the time, gi tract problems and celiacs. The study seemed to get a great response from a gluten free diet! So for almost 40 years this diet has been shown to help autistics and it is still not a part of conventional medicine! It's as interesting to read as it is to cook from. If you like to read your cookbooks you'll love this one!

This is an excellent book for those wanting to move to a gluten free diet. While the transition can be difficult, this book makes it easy to learn how to do it and what to do. It has recipes to help and a good description of foods to avoid and is easy to understand. The recipes are easy to prepare.
