5.0 out of 5 stars wheat free and dairy free
At our house we are both gluten and dairy free and that combination (in a cookbook) is difficult to find. Generally I can find one or the other but not both in the same book. Well this is the book that solved that issue. There are over 300 no-milk, no grain recipes. And, the recipes are not only easy to follow but the ingredients are easy to find and items I already had...

I am so disgusted by this book. What a joke. Waste of my time, my money, and my energy. I cooked the Potato Flour Biscuits....could barely gag them down and my 6 and 3 year old would only eat it with maple syrup poured over it. Not to mention they never had a "biscuit" consistency. Then I tried the Potato Bread - the instructions to "roughly" add the oil (what??) and don't "rub" it too much (???), then it never tells you when to exactly combine the 2 mixes, it never actually "rose"....it just sat there in a lump - so I tossed that too. Tried the almond mounds next. Disgusting. Was hoping for a mildly sweet treat - my kids wouldn't even eat that WITH extra honey added!! In her Fish Baked with Lemon recipe, she never explains how much lemon rind to add, I suppose you just guess...Her lack of detailed instruction along with the taste of the food makes this book barely a 1 star - which I gave it only for the informative first chapter - which focused more it seemed on people avoiding corn than dairy and grain. I wasted money buying the book and special ingredients, wasted my time cooking it, and disgusted my family with the taste. Much prefer the recipes in Candida Control Cookbook and The Yeast Connection Cookbook.

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, December 16, 2010

This was an interesting cookbook, but it had a very vintage feel to it. Recipes were very outdated. I wouldn't eat the majority of recipes in here, although there are a couple good ones.

Well this is the book that solved that issue. There are over 300 no-milk, no grain recipes. And, the recipes are not only easy to follow but the ingredients are easy to find and items I already had in my kitchen. In the first few pages of the book, there is also a good review of things you can eat and a list of forbidden foods (if you want to maintain a gluten and dairy free diet.) This is also a good introductory book for those just wanting to try this "healthier" way of eating.
