More About the Author

An accomplished motivational speaker, coach and trainer, Debbie's personal journey has been full of forks in the road. A fashion buyer whose career began at Dillard's, eventually moving on to A Pea in the Pod and Viacom Entertainment, found she liked food more than fashion after taking a volunteer position buying for a gourmet store between jobs. Her passion unleashed; she transitioned her career and published her first cookbook, managed culinary schools and became a corporate chef. With a successful corporate career behind her she packaged that knowledge with the discovery of the powerful ingredients to personal fulfillment.

Today Debbie facilitates "Recipe for Life", a program encouraging health, wellness and personal development. Through team building, workshops and presentations, Debbie guides participants to examine key ingredients for a successful personal and professional life.

Her books include Good Friends Great Tastes, a cookbook, entertainment guide filled with tips, techniques, anecdotes and 275 of her favorite recipes. Her inspirational book on which her programs are based is called Recipe for Life, Making the Most of the Forks in the Road.

I attended a cooking class given by Debbie, and she used several of the recipes from this cookbook. She prepared some of the tastiest dishes I've ever had. The class members were delighted! Her recipes are very easy to follow, don't require complex, hard-to-find ingredients, and are a joy to put together. I've made her "Cha Cha Chicken Salad" twice in one week! I've also been pleased with the "Bacon Tomato Tartlets". Next, I'm trying "Hearts of Palm and Artichoke Crostini" and "Steak Soup". Thank you, Debbie, for a great cookbook!

Debbie did a cooking demonstration for an organization I belong to,,, making several items from the book. Everything seemed so simple to make, yet the end results were so awesome! I have made many things from her book and even plan my parties using her book as my guide--listing recipes, page numbers and making shopping lists. I had a farewell party for a friend and made several items from the book and everyone raved... my friends kept questioning whether I really made everything. I finally pulled out my menu list with page numbers along with the cook book to convince them. Since then, at least one friend has purchased the book and told me she too loves it and has made many of the items for family and friends with similar results. Every time I see her, she thanks me again for introducing her to the book! I grew up in a large family and learned to cook "country-style" from my mom and grandmother. This book has introduced me to new ways of cooking, maybe a little more gourmet! Thanks Debbie for making cooking and entertaining fun again!

This book was a perfect choice for me. I enjoy cooking and baking but am challenged at times for a creative dish or menu. The recipes are delicious!
