How do I know this book is excellent?,
This review is from: Good Gossip (Mass Market Paperback)
Because I should hate it. I mean, come on. A book that so clearly screams 'Chick Lit' with its title and its cover? I'm a 31-year-old male who hates sentimentality and 'Sex and the City' with equal fervor. This should be the last book I would enjoy. But I did enjoy it. A lot. Why? Because the stories are just that good. Every one of them leaves a lasting impression, and they waste no time getting to the good stuff.
If you pick this up expecting Chick Lit, you will be disappointed, and I will probably be glad that you are disappointed, because you suck. But if you pick it up looking for excellent, funny, well-crafted stories about wholly unique characters, that's exactly what you'll get. And I will be glad that you got it. Because you are awesome.

snore,
This review is from: Good Gossip (Mass Market Paperback)
I think this was supposed to be witty and urbane. It's merely tedious and shallow. An awful lot of fuss and bother about some insipid people who have *no* lives. How very disappointing.
