Using the same design innovations that made its kitchen tools wildly successful, Oxo now offers a line of Good Grips hardware. This 25-foot tape measure features a comfortable nonslip grip; an oversize, thumb-operated locking mechanism; and a sturdy GripClip at the front of the tape to keep it securely anchored to whatever you're measuring. Even the steel tape is thoughtfully designed: yellow, with oversize black markings in 1/8-inch increments, it's supremely easy on your eyes and covered with a protective nylon coating that'll last through many a remodeling project. Unlike a lot of tape measures, Oxo's doesn't feel flimsy, and it doesn't bend, fall, or retract just as you're nearing the end of your measurement. The housing is permanently covered with a soft, non-slip elastomer that ensures a secure, comfortable grip. The elastomer covered locking switch is oversized for easy locking and unlocking. The Grip-Clip at the front of the tape is impregnated with a rubber-like, non-slip material that holds securely to the edge of the work being measured. tape measures feature larger number and 1/8-inch and stud markers. The steel tape is nylon coated for durability and stand out over 7 feet.

Have used it and love it. Most comfortable 25' tape I have ever had. This neat feature called grip clip is a rubberlike material that is tough but actually sticks to the edge of what you are working on. The Stanley stands out a little farther but this is twice as comfortable, easy to use.

I use this OXO International Good Grips tape measure in my craft room all the time and was so glad to see it here on Amazon.com. As with all their products, (kitchen, tools, garden items etc) the superb designs are made with comfort in mind. OXO has even won the Tylenol Arthritic Award. Which is how I originally found out about them. My father-in-law is an active cooking, gardening, 87-year-old and swears by this company!

This 25' steel tape measure is coated with nylon for smooth to the touch use; the easy "good grip" casing is soft yet durable, and the nifty GripClip allows one person measuring with ease. I do not hesitate to use this on even the most delicate of fabrics. My hub tends to gleep this from me for his workbench area. He is becoming an OXO convert as I am, with all their products we have--from pepper mill, hammer, can opener, cheese grater, screwdrivers, and my very favorite; a sleek stainless steel coffee mug! (see my reviews of those if you like)

Simply said: this workhorse of a tape measure is another well-crafted OXO product at a great price.

I've been a big fan of Oxo products for years, the kitchen is fairly well stocked with their good designs and quality. However, I've bought one of the 25' tape measures a couple months ago, and it quickly lost the ability to hold the tape in place when the button is clicked. After exchanging it for a new one, I had the same problem on the second day of use. I'm not quite sure that Oxo is as reliable and well built as Craftsman.
