This mitt is the perfect combination of cloth and silicone. I've tried the cloth mitts with various bulky heat resistance materials, and I've tried the silicone square holders and wasn't happy with any of them. The cloth type even with the heat resistant materials allowed heat to leak through and were too bulky. The silicone square version that can serve also as a trivet were too floppy and hard to easily fold to pick up hot dishes with confidence. I consistently would put the silicone square into the food and make a mess. I tried the pincher version of the silicone in the stores, but even though they would seem to conform to picking up a hot dish better they were still clumsy. This OXO mitt does the trick, because the silicone grid put onto the not too bulky cloth gives you the flexibility of cloth with the excellent heat resistant qualities of silicone. These give me great coverage, and confidence that the heat won't suddenly leak through midway from the oven.

Love this silicone oven mitt. I have had no issues with heat conductivity and it is extremely resistant to stains. Also love the magnet that allows for refrigerator hanging. All in all, just a great item that I use all the time. Great colors, too.

This mitt is great. It is large enough that my husband can use it too, but flexible enough for my smaller hand. It has a non-slip surface and handles really high heat. It also has a handy magnet for hanging.

These are fabulous I Love cooking and this has saved my hands from burns...Love the Glove!

As the other reviewers mentioned, these do a great job protecting from heat. Never a fear.
My concern is dropping something. The silicone part over the hand is somewhat flexible, but really only for folding your fingers straight back into the palm. I find almost every time I'm trying to grab something that my fingers are moving under the glove because it has no give in any direction other than folding it flat. So there's no real conforming to the shape of your hand or what you're trying to grab. It leaves one with a feeling that you don't have a very secure grip.

Oven mitt works like a charm. Even was used to pick up the Christmas turkey from the roaster to the carving board. Hands stayed nice and cool. Exterior very easy to wash off and keep clean.

Interior has cloth, so hand is not up against the silicone, for nice feel.

Take a little getting used to, when you're used to the old, cloth mitts, but my chefy BF has been swayed and loves these now. BE SURE you double check what you are ordering: I ALMOST got the petite size by mistake! Probably the best thing about these mitts is that you can just rinse them under the faucet when you get food on the silicone part!
