This is a great guide. I have used it for many years, and every place I have stayed has been extraordinary, yet not necessarily extraordinarily expensive. In order for a hotel to get included in this book, enough ordinary travellers have to stay in it, and then like it enough to send a letter to these people. I think they then send out inspectors to make sure it is up to snuff, but anyway, I have been very pleased with every recommendation I have ever used from them! The other great thing is hotels can't pay to get included.
